plantar-fasciotomy-3-month-update-left-foot

Well it’s been three months since my first surgery. It’s healing well – but still healing. I saw my doctor Thursday and he could push around on my heal area and it didn’t hurt. That is GOOD news.

Doing my stretches has really made a difference. I do some as soon as I wake up before I step out of bed and it really helps with that initial pain.

Everything I do for my left foot for recovery I’ve been doing for my right foot so it should be in better condition for surgery. I’m really hoping that my right foot has a better healing process. I think it helps that I have a better idea of what’s coming and what I can and can’t do. I’m sensitive to pain and injury so we’re going to baby my right foot recovery.

So I’m going to do my best not to trip with crutches and attempt to do some things too soon. Keeping my foot elevated after surgery is very important and as hard as it is to basically lay down for a week I’m certainly going to do it because I want to be as good as I possibly can be for Christmas.

I’m leaving Monday early afternoon for San Francisco for the surgery that takes place bright and early Tuesday morning. My mom will post updates on how my recovery is going because I won’t be online for a little while. BUT I hope you’ll post comments because my mom does read them to me. :)
