Recovery Day 20 – Right Foot

Wow! It’s been just about 3 weeks since partial release plantar fasciotomy (surgery) on my right foot. It’s so much better this time!

Last time (on the left foot) nausea was really bad not only when I would get up, but going out to the doc’s. It was terrible. This time I had a little nausea, but not bad at ALL!

For about a week or so I’ve been taking pain pills less and less. For the last three days I haven’t taken them at all – now I can finally get some sleep!

The stitches are still in. They’re staying in longer this time and I think that’s a great thing. I’ll get them out in 9 days. I can move my foot a little bit, but not too much without causing pain. Of course I’m not trying to rush anything. I want this foot to heal better than the other.

I’ve been staying off my feet as much as possible. Last time I had a HUGE increase in pain in my right foot because it was bearing the full weight of my body. I don’t want to put my left foot through that while it’s still recovering itself.

I feel a lot better this time, more energetic and alert (not that I’m moving around a lot) than last time. The nutritional cleansing system I used for a few months and continue to use has proved to be incredibly helpful. I’ve also been taking Antarctic Krill Oil (women’s version with evening primrose oil) and that has been awesome. I took a serving twice and sometimes three times a day a few days before surgery and afterward. I continue to take 4 capsules daily (3 is a serving) now.

I’ve been taking this time to focus on my business goals and have received incredible clarity and direction on where The Irresistible Woman is going in the new year. I’m SUPER excited for how I’ll be able to help women become irresistible as well as irresistible women entrepreneurs. Lots of changes, lots of fun!!!

Lunch is on it’s way so I better end this post. I hope you are having an awesome day. Thanks for reading and sharing this with me!!!

P.S.
Wanna see pics from my surgery? We were able to get a camera in the surgery room and I have permission to post them. What do you think?

Day 9 – Right Foot

26 Nov 2008 In: Immediate Post-Surgery

We had a doctor’s appointment on Monday to get the bandages removed. This was exactly 7 days after the surgery. The foot looks “good” per the doctor. During the past 7 days we kept ice on for 30 minutes and off for 15. Now Christina will have ice morning, noon, and night or as needed.

Christina has not been very mobile at all….giving her foot time to heal and not overstressing her left foot as it is still healing. She did well on our trip to Sacramento.. no nausia as before.

She continues to take her pain medication on a regular basis but tries to increase the time between each dose.

Again, she is doing better this time around.

We see a substantial difference in how Christina feels this time around. She is doing much better mentally and physically. We attribute this to two things: 1) God answering prayer on her behalf and 2) the nutritional supplementation Christina started during her recovery after the first surgery and is continuing because of all the health benefits.

Thank you everyone for all your thoughts and prayers.

About this blog

When I started thinking about having surgery for my plantar fasciitis I spent hours researching online. I could only find one personal experience with plantar fasciotomy and it hadn't been updated in a long time.

So I thought I'd chronicle my journey from beginning to end and post updates as time goes on as to how well the surgeries worked for me. I'll be having two - one surgery for each foot. I have bilateral plantar fasciitis.

I also created this blog so that my family, friends, associates and clients could easily check my progress and chat with me during recovery.

So if you're visiting this blog way after I've had surgery, I hope the information you find here helps. If you're one of my family members, friends, associates or clients, I hope you'll post lots of comments because your support will keep me going strong through post-op recovery.

Regardless of when you stop by, I'm glad you're here!

Recommended Stuff I’m Using

Keeping me relaxed pre-surgery and entertained and distracted during recovery. I love Blockbuster.com's online/mail service. What's really cool is that before surgery I was able to load up my movie list with more than 200 movies to automatically be sent post-surgery. Cool huh?...

I love to get good deals on stuff! I always check Priceline.com Hotels (save up to 50%) . I use them for hotel/car rentals and airfare too. For my pre-surgery stay in San Francisco I couldn't find a decent hotel for less than $180. So I made a bid at Priceline.com Hotels and got the Hilton by Fisherman's Wharf for $130! Love that $120 savings!!
no one deals like we do!
